What is Whistleblowing?
The law requires all organizations that employ 50 or more people to implement a whistleblowing reporting channel by 17 December 2023 at the latest.
The Whistleblower Protection Act, based on the EU Whistleblowing Directive, requires companies to provide an anonymous reporting channel for reporting misconduct, available to both staff and various external stakeholders.
A whistleblowing reporting channel is a mechanism or system that enables individuals or employees to report unethical or illegal practices within their organization. It provides a safe and confidential way to raise potential misconduct or issues without fear of retaliation. The purpose of these reporting channels is to promote openness and accountability within the organization.
A Solution for Companies of All Sizes
We recommend adopting the EmCe Whistleblowing reporting channel even for companies with fewer than 50 employees. The channel is mandatory within a subcontracting chain regardless of company size, if the main contractor employs more than 50 people.
An anonymous reporting channel is an important part of risk management for a company’s management and owners. Without an anonymous reporting channel, misconduct and security threats may go unnoticed and unaddressed. This can have a significant impact on the company’s continuity. A reporting channel makes it possible to respond to problems quickly.
